About the artist
I am a self-taught oil painter, deeply inspired by the representational traditions of the late 19th century.
My work draws from the emotional clarity and technical richness of that era.
Yet I strive to approach each painting with a sense of spontaneity and freshness—qualities I believe are essential for capturing true character and life.

Through my art, I aim to express how I see the world: illuminated by light, shaped by atmosphere, and alive with subtle rhythms. I’m fascinated by the way light interacts with form, and I constantly seek to emphasize its presence not just visually, but emotionally. My passion for texture and edges plays a central role not only in achieving that goal, but also in creating a sense of harmony and rhythm within the piece. While I pursue likeness and accuracy, I do so in service of the passion and feeling I wish to express.
I see painting as a balance between control and intuition, observation and expression. I hope my work invites viewers to slow down and feel the joy I had while painting maybe even experience a moment of connection.

Practice & Philosophy
My approach combines traditional techniques with contemporary sensibility. Each brushstroke is intentional, each color choice purposeful. I believe in the power of representation to capture not just likeness, but essence the inner life of my subjects expressed through the careful observation of light, shadow, and form.
